RMS Queen Mary 2 the ship of luxury

← Back to homepage

When it comes to transatlantic cruises and elegance, theres no finer cruise ship than the RMS Queen Mary 2. Built in 2004 for Cunard Line, she has a huge passenger capacity of 2,620 and offers some of the best, most luxurious activities to experience on board a cruise ship. So, what makes Queen Mary 2 so different on their long transatlantic crossings? Youll have seven days of leisure to take full advantage of whats on board.

The afternoon tea

Its no secret that the Afternoon Tea on QM2 is something that passengers often look forward to the most. The service alone is something to experience waiters wearing white gloves and finely cut suits will serve you fresh scones, delicious cakes and finger sandwiches. All of this is available on a daily basis, served in the Queens Room a very tasteful experience to say the least.

Relaxing

When its time for relaxing, there are several ways to let your hair down. QM2 offer a steam room, sauna, hot beds thermal suite and therapy pools. If that isnt enough to let loose, passengers can also enjoy full body treatments such as a relaxing Thai massage and an organic seaweed wrap.

Entertainment

Where do we begin? On QM2 theres something for everyone. Guests will be able to

Visit the Clarendon Fine Art Gallery

Play darts and Bingo!

Watch a 3D film

Keep fit with a personal trainer

Try out the mixology courses (a personal favourite!)

Experience a planetarium show

Watch comedians, musicals and theatre productions in the Royal Court Theatre.

Bookworms will also be happy to visit the library, which is home to over 8,000 books; Perfect for those moments for peace and quiet while you watch the ocean pass you by.

For those looking to fancy their chances at winning something, then you can always try out the Roulette or Blackjack at the Casino on board, too.

The food & drink

No cruise would be the same without tasty food that is cooked to perfection particularly if you are on board for a week. QM2 doesnt disappoint in this area. Their food is award-winning in its class and is available everywhere you turn. Foodies and those after a little tipple will be pleased to hear that there is a total of 11 places to eat and drink; all offering very different experiences. From French cuisine at the Verandah Restaurant to the Golden Lion pub on board, each night gives guests a chance to wet their appetite with something new.

What about the cabins?

Not known as cabins, but Staterooms. The Queens Grill Suite is described as a stateroom made for royalty. And yes, there is a good reason for that. Each of these rooms include a personal concierge service and butler as well as seating at the fine dining restaurant, the Queens Grill. Despite these staterooms having a much higher price tag than inside and Oceanview staterooms, its surprising that these are the ones that often sell out first. Come to think of it though; who wouldnt want to have a butler whilst cruising in luxury?
